May 2008 has some of the most anticipated movies of the year. On every Friday in May, there is an entertaining movie playing in a theater near you (depending on who you are). I have listed each Friday release and I think this month is going to be very successful, box-office wise. You may not go see each one, but I'm sure there will be plenty of people going to the movies this month.
May 2nd: Iron Man
Everyone I know has been tracking the new Iron Man trailers since they were announced. Robert Downey, Jr. was a surprise pick to me as Iron Man, but I think he can pull it off. The movie could actually be pretty good and I hope the story is as good as the special effects are going to be.

May 9th: Speed Racer
The Wachowski Brothers' new film is based on a 1960's Japanese animated series. Although this may sound lame, the movie has the potential to be great. They have had great success with the Matrix series and V for Vendetta, so I think their fanbase will show up in droves to see this movie.

May 16th: The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian
The first movie, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, was good. The world of Narnia was believable and I was interested in the story. The sequel should continue this and I believe there are enough people, especially families, that will go see this. The books are great, as well.

May 23rd: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
This is my second most anticipated movie of the summer, behind The Dark Knight. Harrison Ford can still pull off Indiana Jones, even at his age. I know this because Ford still has that swagger and he will always be Indy in my mind! The most interesting part of the film should be whether or not Shia LeBeouf belongs in the movie.

May 30th: Sex and the City: The Movie
Yeah it's probably going to be a chick flick with Sarah Jessica Parker saying that there will be "despair." Wow, "despair"?? I thought it was SEX and the CITY. Sounds like a Lifetime movie. Anyway, I'm not going to see this but there will be plenty of chicks and gay guys that will show up.
